I had trouble keeping up with my blog reading this week, but these are a few things that I did get around to checking out and really enjoyed.
If you didn’t catch it, Mark had a great post about worry this week. I love the idea of designating and ‘worry period’. It seems that everyone is under some added stress lately, this technique can help.
I love gorgonzola and pear slices on my salads. Straight from the Farm posted an amazing recipe to turn this salad into an appetizer with Sweet Gorgonzola and Pear Bruschetta. Sounds good to me!
Laughter is good for the soul so take some time to laugh this weekend. You can check out this autumn-themed photo by Uncornered Market to get you started.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Excellent links…. love your blog. I am a regular reader now for sure.
zesty
Lori,
I just made your Avocado salad and it is great, we used “escarole” instead of “lettuce or cabbage”, I will try cabbage next time.
But the zesty taste of the escarole makes a great contrast with the buttery taste of the avocados…
Just so you know, nowadays, the “Large” avocados are taking over the US grocery stores, they are being marketed as “Light Avocados” supposely have 35% less calories and less fat, I wonder if the Brazilian large avocados are also light in fat and calories comparing to the regular California avocados we are used to seeing around here…

Lori,
Just in case you are curious, “Escarole” in Brazil is very common and it is known as “Escarola” in Sao Paulo and Chicoria in some parts of Brazil.

Thanks everyone! I hope your weekend went great as well. I did some traveling so I was away from the computer.
ray – I have seen the escarole around here, but haven’t tried it. Good idea. I haven’t been able to learn much about the avocados in Brazil, because I haven’t been able to find out the exact variety such as Haas like what we get in the US. The signs here don’t often have the variety.
