This cinnamon cider whiskey cocktail is a simple mix of flavored vodka, dry hard cider, and whiskey. Served over ice it’s perfect for any season of the year!

I might be the only one that feels this way, but cinnamon is a tough ingredient to incorporate into the warmer months of spring and summer.

If you think about it, do any of your favorite foods or drinks for the summer have cinnamon in their flavor profile? I tried to come up with something, but I haven’t thought of it yet.

I refused to give up, though. I knew there had to be a way to use cinnamon in something refreshing. This cocktail is it.

I was sent a bottle of Blazing HEEET Vodka a few weeks ago. If you aren’t familiar, it’s a hot cinnamon vodka. It packs a punch in a good way.

After some time thinking about how I could serve it besides simply adding some soda water, I settled on a hard cider pairing. But not one that is too sweet. I love the dry and semi-dry ciders that seem to be growing in popularity.

Even with the cider, though, it still needed a little something extra to balance the cinnamon’s heat. My husband suggested whiskey so I gave it a try.

I know what you are thinking – whiskey, cider, cinnamon. That sounds a lot like fall. Trust me, though. There is something about how the whiskey balances the vodka and the fizziness of the cider that lightens things up. It’s also shaken with ice and served super cold.

With just one sip it immediately becomes a drink that easily fits in by the pool or at a barbecue.
